Call For Programs
Presenting at the Northern Student Leadership Drive-In (NSLDI) is both a privilege and a professional development opportunity to demonstrate the practical application of your experiences with residential student success. Professionals and student leaders can use this opportunity to establish dialogue and/or share best practices surrounding current issues and trends in higher education.
DEADLINE: Proposals are due by 11:59pm on Sunday, February 19, 2024.
NOTIFICATIONS: The Program Committee will notify everyone of proposal status no later than Saturday, February 24, 2024.
CONFERENCE THEME: "Beyond the Horizon"
PROGRAM PROPOSAL GUIDELINES:
Please consider the following questions when planning your presentation:
• What is the rationale behind doing this program?
• How will the program be of interest to NSLDI participants?
• What is the program agenda? (time and flow)
• How does this program relate to the conference theme?
• Is your program appropriate for the allotted time? (presentations are 30 minutes)
• Consider what will appeal to the participants of NSLDI when writing your title and abstract for the program. What will catch people’s attention? How will your program stand out from the rest?
PROGRAM CRITERIA:
Please keep in mind that the Program Committee will select programs that best fit the following criteria:
• Meet one or more of the following learning outcomes:
o Students will be able to discuss programming ideas with students from other institutions.
o Students will be able to gain resources to create creative and educational programs.
o Students will have the opportunity to promote and showcase their institution and department.
o Students will be able to create and develop connection/friendship with other participants from other institutions.
• Clarity of purpose/rationale of the presentation
• Potential interest to a diverse group of staff
• Presented information is as up to date as possible and coincides with current needs and trends in Higher Education today
• Opportunity for audience participation
• Connection with conference theme
• Applies to needs faced by students, student leaders, and/or staff
• Proper citing of sources for programs which were not created by the presenter

PROFESSIONAL STAFF TRACK:
This year we will continue to highlight the opportunity to offer a Professional Staff Track of programming offerings during the day, running concurrently with other programs. Should you have a program that would target non para-professional staff specifically, please note Graduate/Professional Staff under the Target Audience selection.

This year we hope delegates will be challenge themselves to submit a certain amount of proposals depending on the number of attendees that you will be bringing.
1-5 ppl = 1 session proposal
6-10 ppl = 2 session proposals
11-15 ppl = 3 session proposals
16-20 ppl = 4 session proposals
21-25 ppl = 5 session proposals
