About the Northern Student
Leadership Drive-In

The Northern Student leadership Drive-in (formerly ‘Northern RAP’) is an annual Resident Advisor (RA) day-long conference for the northern part of the Western Association of Colleges and Universities (WACUHO) region. It is hosted by a college or university within the Northern region of California and it serves to bring together Resident Advisors of varying Housing and/or Residential Life Departments from colleges and universities located in their particular region to learn, network, and develop their skills as student leaders at their individual institutions.

This goal is accomplished through:

  • The sharing of ideas and practices within programs that attendees create and present to their peers (if they so choose) in attendance;

  • Allowing for individual to get a sense of how their counterparts work at other schools and possibly bring back new ideas to try at their institution; and

  • The opportunity to build friendships that extend beyond just the conference.

The conference also allows for delegations to rep their school pride by participating in fun, spirited (and maybe slightly competitive) on-site events to take home the pride of being called the most spirited school delegation, and the honor of being gifted the WACUHO spirit stick.
