Best Practices from Past Delegation Advisors:

Delegation Meetings

  • Set up delegation meetings to discuss needs, spirit guidelines, and the conference overall.

  • There is often not a lot of time from when students sign up and when the conference takes place.

  • There is a lot to prepare before you attend and you will probably need multiple meetings with your student delegates.

  • You will want to have a list of deadlines and tasks to complete so you can delegate this amongst the students attending.

Social Media (SM)

  • Check out the Instagram/Facebook page as this has a lot of information you will need and is frequently updated by the pro staff who is coordinating the event.

Tasks to Complete as a Delegation

  • Roll call of your delegation

  • Banner

  • Costumes

  • Donate raffle item

  • Submit a program Proposal

  • Participate in Social Media Challenges

  • Participate in the Philanthropy Project

Miscellaneous

  • Get SWAG. Schools will have an opportunity to swap items of SWAG to other attendees.

  • Program Submissions – Not all students will take advantage of this opportunity, but you should let them know that they can submit an application to present a program at the conference (see present a program tab).
