FROM THE DESK OF DR. EMILY SANDOVAL, WACUHO PRESIDENT
A PRESIDENT'S WELCOME
Greetings WACUHO, and Welcome to WACE 2020!
This year's conference theme "Reconnect, Reenergize, Reaffirm" beautifully sums up so much of what WACUHO and our annual conference and exposition are all about and it is also a theme that is very near and dear to my heart. In my career, I have been to every WACE since 2004 because this association helps me reconnect with colleagues and mentors; reenergizes me to finish the academic year strong; and reaffirms my commitment to the field via the new people I meet, the session I attend, and the amazing exhibitors I get to reunite with each year.
WACUHO is rich in tradition, yet also ever-evolving and embracing of new ideas with each new wave of new professionals that join us and colleagues from other regions who make the move to WACUHO. WACUHO's commitment to the professional growth and development of our members is at the forefront of the WACE conference experience. A tremendously talented and dedicated team of your colleagues has been hard at work for many, many months putting together a thoughtful agenda of interesting programs, planning engaging activities that will allow for networking, selecting delicious meals and organizing other events that will ensure you get the most out of this year's gathering!
Beyond the outstanding formal content that WACE brings to our members, I know that many of us relish the opportunity that the annual conference affords us to simply connect with old friends and colleagues, to meet and welcome those new to the profession or the region, and to enjoy time to simply talk and reflect with others in our unique, rewarding, and at times, very challenging profession. So whether this is your 1st, 5th, or even 20th WACE, Welcome to Rancho Mirage and I hope that you get the most out of the WACE experience.
